TruDesign Load Bearing Collars ABYC H-27 – Reinforcement Collars for Marine Ball Valve Assemblies
The TruDesign Load Bearing Collars ABYC H-27 range is designed for use with TruDesign Skin Fittings and Ball Valves in marine plumbing systems. These reinforcement collars increase assembly strength and help ensure compliance with North American ABYC H-27 standards for static load resistance.
When installed correctly, the Skin Fitting – Ball Valve – Hose Tail assembly is capable of withstanding a 500 lb (227 kg) static load applied to the hose tail end of the assembly for a minimum of 30 seconds.
The collars provide additional support to vulnerable threaded sections of the assembly while maintaining a compact installation footprint without requiring additional bolts or hull fasteners.
Key Features:
- Designed for TruDesign Skin Fittings and Ball Valves
- Supports ABYC H-27 500 lb static load compliance
- Composite corrosion-resistant construction
- Compact installation footprint
- No additional hull fasteners required
- Can be retrofitted to existing TruDesign assemblies
- Provides shrouded thread protection
- Designed for marine plumbing systems
Compliance Information:
- Independently verified by IMANNA Laboratory Inc.
- 1″ Through Hull, Ball Valve, and Tail assemblies comply with ABYC 500 lb load test only when used with TruDesign ABYC Collar
- 1 1/4″, 1 1/2″, and 2″ Skin Fittings meet H-27 requirements without a large collar installed
- 1/2″ and 3/4″ assemblies do not comply with ABYC load test standards
Installation Note:
- If the collar is not snug when tightened, the Skin Fitting thread length will require shortening according to manufacturer instructions
